Humanities II
Our School
Welcome to the gateway of knowledge, creativity, and exploration. At Humanities II High School, we embark on a journey of intellectual discovery and personal growth, and we invite you to join us on this inspiring adventure.

All of our classes emphasize the development of literacy skills, writing skills, and critical thinking.
We offer a traditional as well as a transitional bilingual strand for Spanish-speaking students, and all students take two years of a world language.
In math, students experience discovery-based learning, in social studies students deepen their understanding of civic participation and engagement.
In Senior year, students complete capstone projects, as well as participate in a science symposium.
For students who need additional support, we offer literacy intervention, ICT classes, and SETTS.
All About Our Students
A Supportive School Community
-
All students have an advisory which is the primary connection between the student, school, and family. Each year the advisor loops with them.
-
All students have a cohort team led by an administrator, school counselor, social worker, and dean who work to support the student's academic success.
-
Parents have the opportunity to participate in workshops.
-
Students have access to counseling and socio-emotional learning activities.

At HUM II, our college and career readiness journey begins in 9th grade. Each year our scholars engage in college trips, tailored to the needs of each grade.
-
We have a college and career counselor that provides intensive support on the college application process.
-
Many students dual enroll at Bronx Community College or take one of our AP classes to earn college credit in high school.
-
We have annual events like Mock Interviews, Career Days, and a Vocational Fair, to ensure all students leave HUM II with a post-secondary plan aligned with their passions.
